I'm building a garage and looking to get an 11ft one of these. Their doors seem very popular but I've heard a couple of stories of the electrics playing up on the auto ones.

Anyone got any experiences/got a Gliderol door?

I've got a manual one, had it for 3 years now and no problems.
I bought a threshold seal for the floor because I had pooling water outside, no leaks or seapage anywhere.

I did find it ran better with a bit of lube down the runners, where it says "do not lubricate" smile

I have had a couple now both very good and no problems with the electrics, fitted them both myself too so fairly idiot proof....

I also would ignore the label and squirt a bit of GT85 in my slotswhistle

I've got 2 glyderol doors, both have been OK , Had one control box fail which was replaced under warranty. Only thing I'd say is they''re not as tough as 'normal' Roller shutter doors, and so ain't really suited to being used directly on the street/Highway.

Cheers folks - got an 11 foot one on order. Only £480 delivered which was quite a find. Unfortunately it's facing a road and at the back entrance too, but I'm going to put some security lighting up and add it into the house alarm system, so hopefully it'll be okay!

11 foot door is gonna be heavy, mine are both 8 footers and they were difficult enough to manhandle into position.
Suggest you eat your wheaties the day you attempt to fit itthumbupbiggrin
