I'd seen that - which gave me hope that someone was still enjoying it as much as I did!

I'd love to but SWMBO is already furious about the Taimar that's blocking the garage and the Mustang donor car that's sitting on the driveway (not to mention my old MK1 XR2 I can't bring myself to sell, or the Status Minipower stuffed into the garage roof)

Too many projects, not enough [time|motivation|budget] biggrin

MrC,
I hope you are still on here??

I bought K840APC. And would love to hear all about her when you owned her.
Please reply with contact details so we may discuss her history and future.

Thanks

Hi Nigel - good to hear that there's an additional V8S now in Suffolk. I've had mine for nearly 2 years and never seen another one on the road as yet. I'm based in Bury St Edmunds and you'd always be welcome for a cuppa if you're over this way.

Trust that you will have a lot of fun with the new car - it looks really good from the photos.

well, who would believe it! i live in bury st edmunds too! just outside ingham on the way to thetford. The invite for a cuppa is offered in return too.

I've owned many different cars, have 4 at the moment, two of which have to be sold to pay for the purchase of the V8S, which i have always wanted since many years ago, one of my suppliers had one and took me for a spin (literally) in it.

Would be great to learn more about the V8S from an owners point of view.

Just had my engine set-up today at Kerridges. It was 5deg out on the timing, and boy has that made a difference.

They found a couple of small areas that will looking at in the near future, but all in all avery nice solid car.

How is yours????

Hi again Nigel - small world isn't it?...just waiting for another one to break cover now!. I live in the centre of Bury (in The Grid), so you are virtually just down the road. I'll Email you my contact details and look forward to having a natter sometime.

For the record I have my car fettled by Scole Engineering at Diss. They're a good bunch of guys, know TVRs inside out and charge sensible costs.

Out of interest, did you go to the Classics by the Lake display at Fornham, on Sunday?. I had my car there - a silver one, with the bonnet open (naturally!). Some terrific cars there, including a dozen or so TVRs.

Look forward to swopping notes.

hi TopGear,

sounds like a great idea to meet up, no snobbery here about models, a TVR is a TVR!! The weather is forecast rain for the next few days, and i only bring mine out if dry. Mind you, you are more than welcome to pop in for a cuppa and chat about all things when you are out Thetford way.

i live on the main A134 between Thetford and Bury, near the Little Livermere junction.

i also have a new mate with a V8s who also lives in Bury, we meet up regularly now since i bought mine nearly a year ago now.

If we get some dry weather forecast, would be good to meet up somewhere in and around this area.

hope all is well

hello hello hello...don't forget me! - not only live 5 minutes away from Steve (TopGear TVR) but also a former owner of a GT6 and Spitfire... Have you also come to realize that a 2 or 2.5 litre GT6 is one thing, but a TVR gives you a 3 or 4 litre version of the same type of car, but with less rusty body work!
