Help: What Car Lease company do Bank of Sctoland use?

Any BoS people out there with company cars who can help?

Just bought a car with no History - long story, but basically ripped of by a Dodgy dealer - I've found out the car was a lease car belonging to Bank of Scotland, but I need to know who the Lease company are.

Explain how you were ripped off buying a car with no history and why it is essential that you contact the lease company?

Lex is Lloyds Banking Group (i.e. BoS).

Car was bought from (a supposedly reputable dealer) advertised as ex lease car with full history. paid the deposit, I've paid a bit over the odds compared to private, but comfortable with a Full history ex-lease car.
Collected the car a week later -Sorry Sir, the History and Spare key are on their way from the Lease company, you have my assurance.
2 Weeks later still no History, ranf the used dealer - "Sorry mate, you paid for the car, not our problem"
So we've discovered it was originally a BoS car - hence the question - be nice to get some history for peace of mind.

Take it back and demand money back as its not got spare key and not got history as far as your concerned and they are passing the buck.

Give them a warning about it and then say if they are still going to be an arse about it go to trading standards and report them. Give them the chance to rectify it and do it all in writing with signed for delivery, etc and emails on delivery notice.

The lease company don't hold the spare key, it's given to the driver/company on delivery. The service book also isn't held by the lease company, however if it was a maintained contract (it might not be) then the lease company should have a record of this.

I had this exact same problem with my POS Leon - I ended up threatening them with trading standards before this was sorted out.

YHM - I've sent you a copy of a letter that I sent to a trader that made them sort the car out - I spoke to trading standards who told me to put this in any letter I sent to them and that if I got no joy, they would take up my case with the trader:

Entry to go in the letter said:

By claiming that you had this service history when you did not places you in breach of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968 Section 1-1a.

You are specifically in breach of Section 13 of the Sales of Goods Act 1979 by not providing me with the items as described.

I sent a letter containing this, amongst other things, by email and recorded delivery and a couple of days later, everything was fixed

I will, however, admit that I did not know 100% that this was correct, legally, but it was the advice I was given from trading standards so can't really complain there

I was crashed into by an employee of Bank of Scotland. After a long old debate between my insurance company and theirs, it transpired that Enterprise have a deal with BoS to provide all of their permanent lease cars....
