Hi All,
Bit of advice, I have a old BBQ at home that runs on butane and looking to upgrade on the weekend. Now if I buy a new BBQ that has a Propane connecter and I swap over the regulaters over so the new one has the Butane connecter on it will the new BBQ run ok?
It will be running on a 15kg Butane bottle if that makes any diffrence.
Thanks
Les

For a Charcoal grill there can be only one. The Webber One Touch. There are other threads on here where others like myself think the Webber is the best BBQ available.

Jets for Propane or Butane are the same,It's the regulator pressures that are different,so no problem.
I think the two gases require different quantities of air to burn at max heat though. I have a cheapo BBQ which was set up for Propane and, like the OP, I swapped the regulator (and threw away the nasty Chinese gas tubing)so it would take my existing butane tank. The BBQ runs fine but the flames do have a tinge of yellow - like a school bunsen which isn't quite on full heat. Being a cheapo unit I can't alter it enough to compensate.
Cooks OK!

Altering the mix to compensate do you think i could do it on this one for EG, as this is the one i might be looking at.The BBQ runs fine but the flames do have a tinge of yellow - like a school bunsen which isn't quite on full heat. Being a cheapo unit I can't alter it enough to compensate.
