Port/hose connection under the stepper motor

Hi,

I was investigating an air leak that I could hear coming from near the stepper motor area and found that there is a little "port" i.e. bit of pipe that a hose should go onto (looks like it would take hose I/D size approx 5-6mm). Does anyone know what goes onto this connection and where it runs to?

Thanks for any help! pretty sure it is causing the engine to idle high....

fuel pressure regulator vacuum pipe should go on there

Darn, my fuel pressure regulator vac pipe is currently connected to a similarly sized port that is on the Throttle (bulk head side), near where the larger vac pipe is conected that goes to the stepper motor.

So, I can swap it over but then my next Q will be what connects to the small port that is next to the throttle?? Unless they both do and I need to Tee them together...

Hi,

Just verified that the vac hose from near the throttle does connect to the distributor on my car so that is all ok.

It seems that my problem is that there are two ports on the stepper motor housing (one above it and one below it). The upper one is going to the pressure regulator, so that seems ok.

My probl;em seems to be the lower port |(hwich is hard to see under the stepper motor), which is open to atmosphere and letting un-metered air into the manifol. Any ideas?

Spend, think you are right and that the additional port should just be blanked, can't see anywhere for it to go!

Will take a pic, just for info and hopefully add it later today.

My car is a 1999 Grif 500....

Thanks agains, air leak seems to be sorted now...

I'm having problems with my photobucket account, so not able to post a pic but will leave it at that unless someone out there has a burning desire to see the two port stepper motor housing which has caused me all these probs...
