So over the last few months it has been a thought that has come back again and again and again, and it looks like i am finally at the point of selling my Wagon. frown

I am completely torn between the idea of keeping it, dealing with the insurance/petrol/noise and not having a change.
Or the idea of a new toy, either something nicer, newer and able to manage long journeys at 70 whilst hitting something more respectable than 25mpg or something roofless/daft and fun.

Now i put this out as a what car with the following criteria.

It must be fun.
It must be something that i can use everyday.
Not a barge, it must be hoonable.
Preferably less than £10k.
Preferably no engine mods, brakes, suspension yes but engine no.
And i am strangely not after anything jap with a turbo, if i want jap and turbo then i'll keep the Scooby.

Edit for Wackojacko - No Track cars

So my ideas so far are:
MX-5, Probably a mk2.5 with no power increases, just brakes and suspension, a little on the impracticle side, but easily lived with. But would i miss the overtaking grunt of the Scoob?

Ford Mondeo ST220, 3.0v6, comfy, still able to hoon a little, and has a fair bit of grunt. But would it amuse me on a quiet sunday morning chasing TVRs?

BMW 130m, Ugly, not something i have ever really wanted, but 3.0 straight six, RWD, capable on a hoon and able to munch up the distances on longer runs.

I have also been tempted by 330s both i and d, so they have been looked at and i don't need to see anymore.

What can you suggest.

shout don't do it!!! biggrin

I think you'd need something with a fair bit of grunt otherwise you'd get bored of it after stepping out of the wagon. Unless your planning on doing a bit of fettling under the bonnet yourself?

What do you think the wagon is worth?

Would you like an e36 M3 Evo in rather good condition for well under budget? whistle If you stick to 70mph or below it does a lot more than 25mpg!

Fancy something French? A tidy Clio 182 or even an early 197 is well within your budget. Most fun you can have on 3 wheels and great bang per buck as a hoon mobile.

130 and boosted mx5 are both decent. I quite fancy both myself someday.

How much are Chims these days?

Did cross my mind to suggest but as a daily driver and MPG court is where it would fall down ?

Hadn't thought about that, I will look into it

Clio V6
Nope, not a fan.

MK1 FocusRS
I know it's not a jap turbo, but it fall under the no turbo'd rule.

Astra VXR
See above.

Golf R32
Not keen on them.

Gold Astra coupe with no interior. - I take it you'd like to swap then?

Wacko, I knew that your unnatural addiction to the classifieds would pay off oneday, that Z4 is a cracking idea.

I didn't think they had got anywhere near that price.

The Elise or VX220 would be my choice.... they are both sensational examples and look the bks.

Z4 would be epic
M3 would be quicker, more comfortable and the obvious LSD as standard biggrin

Wacko you are a bad man for suggesting Z4s. Look what is 2 miles away in Sunningdale, and the insurance is £250-£300 less than the Scoob.
