Does anyone know if the VA planes to Orlando are getting upgraded anytime soon? I've heard a rumour that the Gatwick planes are due for an overhaul but don't know any timescales (or indeed if its 100% true).

Basically I don't want to fork out a lot for Upper on the Orlando route to be stuck with the same experience as I just had to Vegas.

For that matter... are the Miami ones actually any better? (I had assumed they would be simply because they leave from Heathrow).

From what i understand theres a new plane flying to Orlando from May 2011 - i'm off there in June with Virgin and it seems its the new plane going out and then a older 747 coming back (im on the later flight coming back).

I'm off to Orlando in 2 weeks time and the plane has changed from a 747 to a new Airbus a330 which started service at the beginning of this month,
although this is from Manchester so not sure if it applies to any other airports

I believe the 747s will have a refurb starting at the end of this year. The new A330 is flying from Manchester (inaugral flight was Saturday last) and we are on that in 2 weeks time. The pictures look quite impressive!

Thanks for the v-flyer link, another way to lose a day on internet land!

It seems the LGW-MCO route has an A330 coming online right about now, but only for a few days a week, and the website has now updated to show the new plane after you select the flight. The seating configuration doesn't have an upper class area, but all seats have the most up to date in flight entertainment system with touch screen and I think it has connections for things like USB and cameras too.

As already mentioned the MAN-MCO route already has their A330.

Thanks for the link, that site was extremely helpful.
