I'm foooking fed up of driving kak !
Sold the elise 135R last year to fund a new house and a (amasing) little girl. I need a release, you know, the 6am sunday scare yourself stless run !
so the berlingo and verso isn't cutting it.
am looking at a noble 3R as a good handling "faster elise" although i've always been intrigued by the t350s styling and interior.
my question is are they any good for track days/ chuckability? for a mediocre driver ? just got a horrible feeling i might be out of my depth as theres not a cat in hells chance I'd drive it sedately.
what do you think?

cheers noel

don`t see why not, the T350 is a great handling car, so long as you warm it up properly before tearing off like a looney you`ll be finehehe
bearing in ind a large dose of common sense will be needed, don`t put your foot down if icy, damp, wet, snowhehe mud, oil, blah blah, on the road, or put your foot down in the middle of a bend/roundabout.

go get one, you`ll love it.

Drive one and see.

I'm far from the best driver in the world, but (touch wood) no issues yet. Just be sensible about the power and brakes.

All they need is someone with mechanical sympathy. If you don't have that then you'll have problems. If you do then you'll be fine.

The Noble would probably be safer for you ,given your urges to hoon, but as others have said the 350 would be a good handling ,fast alternative with a lot more room.
I would agree that the 350 may require a smoother more progressive driving style than that required to propel the Noble swiftly.

Drive both and have fun.

??? It will be fine.

An Elise will be twitchier at the limit than a T350 I would have thought? It just has enough power to provoke it more... Standard vs standard the Noble will be the more competent track car, but the balance can be redressed with a few choice mods to the T350. We had a similar choice, 3R/M400 or T350 - we chose the latter. We were able to get a late, low mileage one cheaper than a Noble and I honestly think we made the right choice. For the same money as an M400 we could develop the car similarly to "tailslides" car, I suspect it would give a standard M400 a fright... wink Our plan is to instead just make some minor modifications to get it slightly more track biased at a relatively minimal cost. I doubt it will disappoint.

Only thing i find wrong with the T350 for track work is the seats; there just not that supportive, especially lumbar support but you can always change them.

Children you say!!

There are only really two absolute reasons to own a TVR. The first is if you have a wife and the second is if you have children. Once you have both, it is essential to have a TVR. There is no other way to escape the carnage and feel free once in a while.
And even if you are never allowed to use it, you still have it, you still know that whenever you must, you can escape!!!.

Yee haa!

I've been through the same thing going from a 135R to a T350. Ultimately I'm sitting here with a T350 in the garage. smile

Couple of thoughts which are hopefully relevant. It takes a different style of driving for me, more calm and relaxed. The suspension is probably considered hard by some but coming from the LSS you'll find it normal. It doesn't have anywhere near the grip levels you had in the dry but I find it more progressive near (my) limit. In the wet/damp grip is pretty good considering your 135R probably had 888's or 48's on. give it some stick and there's no comparison in a straight line. In the Elise I was the last of the late brakers but in the T350 under braking it can get a bit 'squirrely' if you aren't straight or don't judge it right.

If you intend to spank it like the Elise it doesn't take long at all to end up in license losing territory. I don't want to discourage you, because I love mine, but you can't hoon it in the same manner, it's simply too fast! On the other hand comfort is better and the noise is simply awesome smile

For what it's worth I don't intend to track it at all at the moment whereas my 135R got 4-5 outings a year.

You may find this thread which I started at the time helpful.
