I'm looking at buying a Focus RS Lux2.

Are there any issues that I need to be aware off? This will be my first Ford since 1990 so a real blast to the past smile

Car I am looking at has 13,000 miles and is a September 09 car.

The deceptively small fuel tank? I get around 280miles to a tank. It's still my daily driver though.

A car of that age should have had the CJ mapping and Hard Brake Recall done already, so bar looking for some wear and tear the following;

1. Tracking/Wear on the front tyres - Shouldn't be irregular, I had mine Geo'd pretty much asap although some cars seem to suffer from irregular wear.

2. Rigid Snow Shield should be fitted under the slam panel, the slam panel pulls off with a little effort, and you should clearly see the snow shield under the snorkel to the airbox.

3. Seat bolsters - some have worn badly on the bolster, even if the original owner wasn't a large person, mainly due to the way you fall in to the seats.

4. Exhaust downpipe bolts. Even on standard cars they have a way of working lose.

Also been dipping my foot in the water with these but have looked at two utter dogs!!! its amazing how cars less than 2 years old can be as bad as the 2 ive seen banghead also found out one was an irish import which wasnt on the advert! not sure how that would affect warranty etc.

Genuinely my 7 year old mk1 with 85k on the clock is in better nick frown

If anyone has a ug lux 2 with leather (black wheels & Mountune a bonus)& looking to sell for sensible money not to far from Kent pm me wink

P.s sorry for the thread hijack getmecoat

Get yourself on Focusrsoc.com

Plenty going on there and you will be hard pressed to find dogs. Also, I'd avoid demonstrators; the three i saw before buying the Stealer personnel tended to rag them about from cold.

Yes, 62l tank but dash still calibrated to std focus 55l, so you can run for 30-40 miles on empty so to speak. 300 miles to a tank on average. At 22k miles obd is showing 25.7mpg (average).

Blue ones are faster.

All and sundry will want to race you.

It is when you're driving, and you enjoy it. Hence my use of the word deceptively smile
