is there an easy way to remove the rear section of the 350 roof thinking of renewing it but would like some advice on removal before getting stuck in.

The hood is attached to the rear hoop which is bolted through into the boot usually with 2 or 3 10mm bolts. The top part of the hood is glued on to the hinged targa section. To remove the hood I would peel of the glued section from the targa section - soak it first with thinners - then unbolt the rear hoop section which will most cetainly be rusted so a squirt of WD40 or plus gaz will be required before hand.

I've done 2 hoods - 2nd time was much easier as I knew what to expect. Getting it off is easier. However, if you are going to a trimmer for a replacement he'll need your old hood as a pattern for the new unless you buy from Autohoods which are ready made ready to stretch & stick into place.

As a halfway house you can undo the bottom and leave the hoop stuck on, if you need it off for repairs.

Is it torn Jock? Remeber boot polish and a sponge brings it back brand new!

The bolts will be rusted to buggery probably and will need replacing.

There was an interesting article that one of the S series boys put online some years ago that pretty much gave step by step instructions, have a search online. Might have been on one of the S club heaven type websites.
