Mondeo V6

I just picked up this Mondeo at the weekend. It's a 2.5 V6 Zetec S saloon. I got it for next to nothing because it was a bit of a state when I got it, but I've cleaned it up a little and it looks like there is a half decent car underneath it.
The wheels need to be replaced because they are pretty messy and not worth refurbishing due to the front ones being roughly the same shape as a 50p coin.
I've a couple of other parts to replace but it's mostly going to be a stop gap while I build my next project.

I almost bought a V6 Zetec S a few months back. It was stupidly cheap but something set alarm bells ringing so I walked away.

Always liked that shape of Mondeo and it's quite well equipped.

I've got an '03 V6 (Ghia X) with 145k on it, that I use as my DD - which means that is finished in "Stonechip and roadgrime black" Someday, I'll post on here about it...

These are basically very reliable cars, but especially the engine

Expect hassle off the handbrake cables and rear calipers - both seizing issues - a common problem with all MK3s and the rear wheel bearings - they pack up between 60k and 130k. Both easy and cheap fixes (aftermarket parts), if you've got a common sense and a Haynes manual...

30MPG average is good in these.....

RFL may become an issue in the future though (£415pa @ 238g/km), but we are currently subject to a moratoreum and capped at £245
