For me it was Shuttle.

it was literally a manual on how to launch and fly a space shuttle.

i'm sure more training would be involved but i remember a quote/review which said it wasnt far off an actual space shuttle launch sequence etc.

course once you got it up there you had to land the damn thing.

never got that far... press alt+4 on panel d4 and then press shift-9 followed by f3 on panels d6 d9...

there was about 10 pages of this.

That rings a bell. It didn't look like fun. Isn't there some PC flight sim out at the moment that's very, very realistic but takes about 30 minutes before you take off with setting everything. What happened to pressing W to accelerate and S to slow down, eh?

There was a "game , " on the Sinclair zx81. After keying in a page of code it generated a random number between 1 & 6 .
Oh we played it for literally seconds

Oooh there was nothing like watching those lovely colourfull lines scrolling across your screen with the odd screech for 20 minutes to find main screen all jumbled up, the next reload 20 minutes gets even more exiting.

World Racing on the GameCube; for those not aware, it was a racing game with an all Mercedes collection of cars.
It was utter rubbish, crap graphics, awful handling, dreadful noise and utterly appalling quality of code. Crashing was rife and for such a wide variety of reasons it was basically unplayable, I can't believe it ever passed QA.

I remember attempting to 'play' this game on my old C64 which was a steam train simulator.

I never, not once, managed to leave the station

I'm going to be controversial and say GT5.

Having played every GT release to death and wasted more hours of my life than I care to think about, I found that GT5 was a major disappointment. Where the previous releases grabbed me and really held my attention, making want to go back time and again just to shave off those few hundredths, the last one... well... didn't. After only a few days play I found that I just couldn't be arsed with it.

first resident evil. having come from tomb raider with full roaming i found the lock off camera shots very frustrating and limiting.

Big rig: Over the road racing is regarded by many to be the worst game ever made.

It's so bad it isnt even a game, there is no way of winning (or losing) or crashing or anything else.

I have PMDG 747 for Flight Simulator, it pretty much models everything.

I had to download the real 747-400 flight manual and checklist just to work out how to start, program the FMC and take off ..

Oddly satisying when I arrived at SFO though :geek:

I believe it was The Hulk on C64. It was an adventure game.

It went something like this:

You are trapped in a cage.

[inventory] hammer, hook.

Hit cage with hammer. You cannot hit the cage with the hammer.

Use hammer with hook. You cannot use the hammer with the hook.

Escape from the cage. You cannot escape from the cage.

No kidding. I gave up. They dont make games like that any more. Thankfully.
