Stag do in Barcelona
Discussion
I'm best man for a mate of mine, and we're off to Barcelona for the weekend. I'm going to not do the "skanky strippers" thing if possible.
We've already got tickets to the football, but other than that I'm stumped. Anybody got any suggestions of where to go to get good food and non-skanky strippers? you know, the "arty" ones?

Went there for a lads weekend a few years ago and we just walked round the popular areas and if we saw a bar/cafe that looked interesting we went in.
We hit the la Rambla but its very tacky and there are better places in the old town just off the La Rambla. Bars/restaurants near the beach are expensive and not particularly good.
Buy a Rough Guide as well.
Have you sorted accommodation yet? Apartments can be rented for a weekend and are pretty cheap.

best place i can remember is out of the main town, its at a marina, called olympic if i remember rightly, there are two tall hotels there with casinos, and two massive underground clubs, a strip of bars and restaurants where you can buy kilo steaks and chips, have a look on the map and see if you can see what i mean, i was so phissed the details are hazey.

You do realise that the ones you met where actually trying to pickpocket you?
Well that was what I was getting at, that and my friend got pretty much mugged by 4 of them.
If ever there was a way to get a man to take his hands out of his pockets!

From what I noticed, they like going for nipples to get your attention.

My friend lost his phone and wallet after one of the big ones bear hugged him and the others dipped into his pockets after he took his hands out of them to push her off.
Best tip I was told is stay in decent sized groups, they tend to target small ones and people on their own.
I live in Barcelona, so if you are still reading this...
Firstly.. Las Ramblas... don´t play the silly games, hands in pockets, wallet in front pocket... don´t look like a tourist and life will be fine. also watch for pickpockets on the metro.. you´ll see them, but they do target stag do´s as easy prey
Places to see:
The bus tours.. about €22 a day and really good..
Sagrada Familla - incredible inside..
Casa Mila - roof terrace is very cool
Casa Batillo - not as good in my opinion
Parc Guell - great place....
Olympic Museum €3 which is next to olympic stadium
Castle on Mont Juic - good views
Tibidabo - Theme park overlooking Barcelona
The beach... stretches for a couple of miles and is nice and sandy
bars.... tourist areas are way more expensive...Chiringuito´s are now open on the beach but they are pricey.
Restaurants.. Some nice ones in Born, Eixample (loads here and just north of Plaça Cataluyna. Or just get tapas anywhere
And the champanaria.... €0.80 for a glass of cava, or €5 a bottle.. you have to have food... Ask at the hotel but it´s cracking fun and full of locals.. and packed!!
I´ll check back at the end of the day if you have other questions
