Any recommendations for bars/clubs after Tea the Ritz?
Discussion
As the Title suggests really, me and the girlfriend decided to go for Tea at the Ritz in a couple of weekends time, not sure why but sounds like a laugh. We fancy hitting a few bars after to make a bit of a night of it but not being at all familiar with the area wondered if anyone had any recommendations?
Having been to the smoke before for a few nights out I'm aware how difficult it is for an outsider to find anywhere decent without some insider knowledge! So any suggestions gratefully received.
Edit..
Not quite as the title suggests, should be 'Tea AT the Ritz'

There are loads of places nearby!
Funnily enough, I was at the Ritz on Monday. We went to Selfridges afterwards as we weren't having a late one.
Where you go clubbing is up to you but I would recommend that you either eat before or after the "tea". A few scones and a couple of sandwich fingers are initially very filling but I guarantee you'll be starving within an hour or two of finishing.

Cheers bar 5 min walk
Roadhouse 10min walk
if its clubbing Fabric ? short taxi drive
Coz you will fit right in at these venues after dressing accordingly for Tea at The Ritz!!! That is and would be worth seeing...Roadhouse 10min walk

As with all of these threads, need more on budget, ponce factor, rustic, quirky? etc...
You could do worse than wander almost across the road to the Bar at The Mayfair for a couple to continue the 'special' occasion - not everyone's cup of tea but would certainly fit the 'smart' bill. Pricey and the odd 'professional' (read that as you see fit) but OK for a stop gap post The Ritz.
Plenty of more relaxed or grotty type bars and 'clubs' or why not get on the guest list at Centrepoint? Short cab or couple of Tube stops? Again, quirky and smarter than somewhere like Roadhouse. The bar on the Opera Terrace in COvent Garden is nice if pleasant weather and you are from out of town? Plenty of walkable 'normal' pubs and bars around Mayfair if you like - Punch Bowl is a good pub not far away, despite the link with Guy and Madge (Well Guy now).
Give more info or what you are looking for and there are plenty of us who have and do stagger around those parts regularly enough to be of assistance....
Either way, good luck!

op, try the mayfair bar just round the corner. if you get bored of that the bar at nobu is opposite as is funky Buddha, mahiki is also on dover street.
Thank you all for your post I really appreciate it.
We haven't really set a budget for the evening, the date falls between both our birthdays so just a bit of fun and something different for us. I'm not worried about spending a few hundred post the Ritz but couldn't handle anymore than that. As mentioned in Slaav's very useful post above, the idea is to carry the evening on in some quirky/modern/posh bar(s) where we won’t look too out of place in 'Ritz' clothing.

Beaufort Bar at the Savoy if you want to splash out
if not Aura pretty much underneath the Ritz
Beaufort Bar is very nice and you would be comfortable there if coming from the Ritz. (Check mind as I think it doesn't open 'til 5pm)if not Aura pretty much underneath the Ritz
Not sure Aura is open in the aftrenoon? COuld be wrong as never tried getting in there in the middle of the day

If it is a nice day, then why not go completely quirky and go for a 'Champagne flight' on the London eye? They had VIP options last time I did it with family and we didn't have to queue at all - and a glass of fizz whilst you look down on London.
On that theme, Rooftop at the Hilton? A short walk from the Ritz and spectacular views of London and Hyde Park.
Tom Aikens at Somerset House - Terrace bar should be open soon. DOwn near the Savoy and overlooking the river. Outside and a great venue - will have tourists, suits and post lunch lushes as company...
Haven't bothered re clubs and that type as cant see them being open even until much later.
ANyway, hope the above give you some more ideas?
ps - And the bar at the good old OXO Tower would fit, but need a cab.
