Following up from the 0-60 thread a while back, a friend and I decieded to take the Chim out last Saturday and burn up the welsh countryside.

As well as a few fun sideways moments, we decided to do some (crude) 0-60 tests.

The first few runs were generally between 5.2 and 5.7

Then we both (taking it in turns) sorted our starts out and the best we recorded was 4.9 seconds - twice! Got another couple at 5.0 too.

I reckon I could have pulled of some better starts with a bit more practice, maybe shave off another 1/100 sec. Also could do with a more acurate means of testing other than a stopwatch.

But anyhow, I'm well chuffed that my 8 years old Chim with 94000 miles under it's belt has still got the grunt it should have.

It's moments like that, that put a big on my face

Easy fella! Reminds me of some "testing" I did once with a GSXR750 in '85. (Do I sound like my grandad?) I was taking it to a RWYB drag meet, and marked out a 1/4 mile on a long straight stretch to practice (on my driveway naturally, hossifer). With the aid of a couple of friends we got the time to about 11.3 secs and I was happy. On the day I hit 11.23 @ 125mph, so our rough timing was fair I thought.

It was quite amusing trouncing heavily modded and stretched GSX11's on a boggo 750 as well!
