Not as bad as K**K Fit but..........watch out!

Noticed very uneven wear on the rear tyres of one the cars and so I took to a well known tyre place where we had an account as I thought the tracking was out.

They claimed that it was nothing to do with the tracking and the rear trailing arm bushes were badly worn. Naturally they wanted to do this repair.

I did not agree as I thought the rear suspension had rose bushes which are supposed to have movement.

As such I took the car to another tyre place for them to do a 4 wheel geometry and tracking check. Guess what, the rear toe was miles out and there was nothing untoward with the bushes.

B****cks is all I can say!

Good point re company name.......noticed somebody has edited for me which is good.

The car affected was a Rover 75 diesel in which my wife does about 700 miles a week in. As you can imagine I have had plenty of practice servicing it!

Have you told the original company? Many without a clue would have accepted their "professional" opinion and paid for unnecessary work.

The risk is there but the reward of me chuckling when reading it was worth it. For me at least.

How big does a company have to get before we can name and shame them? Obviously BT, Kwik Fitt etc have been legitimate targets for a while now.

This particular tyre chain seem big to me, but not enough apparently. Is it based on turnover or outlets?

The risk is there but the reward of me chuckling when reading it was worth it. For me at least.
