Right.. brief one!

My vx220 took a spin in the snow & just replaced her with a much cheaper & slightly more sensible RX8.. I know they are marmite & please ignore that for the sake of this question if you can..

I would not considder myself by any stretch of the imagination to be a "chav" however my friends are telling me that the car is perhaps a little bit..

I picked her up Thrsday last week & it turns out she has a carbon fibre induction kit & a "borla?!?!" high flow cat & exhaust..

So yes she is a bit loud :s but surely that wouldn't give it "chav status"

N.B. please Ignore the plates having an england flag on them! the threads are no longer allowing me to take them off so she is booked in with Mazda to replace them as it is now a bumper off job apparently.

I dont want to have to sell her as she is lovely to drive!! so please re-assure me..

Worst "I've just bought myself a new RX-8" thread ever.

Nice car though wink
Doesn't look "chav" to me.

Not at all. Get some friends who aren't cretins with grey fords.

Tints are an issue. Will they peel off?

Whilst I do not know you personally, OP, I agree wholeheartedly with the above.

Or in more traditional PH speak... This.

Careful about the "cheap" ones! There are a few snotters going for sub £5k which will inevitibly need the Carbon Rotor Tips replacing due to MILFS driving them from cold, not checking the oil blah blah blah!

How cheap is cheap exactly? (if you don't mind me asking smile)

Liking the look of it though! And I wouldn't consider it at all "Chavvy" (number plate and tints excluded)...
Should be fun! driving

Is it true that you need shares in Shell to keep these things in oil?

Nice car but always prefered the S2000 myself.

No, not chavvy. But then I'd be a bit hypocritical to call it chavvy given I have an MR2 Turbo with a 3" decat+exhaust and an ARC Super Induction Box.

You'd sell it just because your friends call you a chav for driving it? fk 'em.. if you enjoy the car why care what other people think?

I know 2 people who each drive one of these and they aren't what you would call 'chavs/neds/spides/whatever'. That asides, image should never prevent you from driving what you like.

cheap as in 2004 with 40,000 miles on the clock for £2950!!

I know where your going but shes just been serviced & hot compression tested & thankfully got the all clear!

Unfortunately the guy had just been made redundant so it was one of his toys that had to go..

She is 6 owner & had front & rear bumper re-spray however they are of fairly good quality & I work at VXL so re-sprays dont bother me too much.. (mechanicaly perfect! without wanting to tempt fate..)

and after the lads at work gave her a good valet (bit of free autoglym lifeshine) then aestheticaly very nice as well!

In all fairness the number plates aren't too bad. At least they're not some naff font formatted in italics and messed-with lettering. smile

It really isn't. Assuming its got those little plastic screws in, just pull on the plate until it breaks off then either drill some new holes in the bumper and use metal screws with plastic caps on, or stick the new plate on with some sticky pads like these:

Get rid of the tints and the naff private plate and it should look OK.
