Help... Totally Stumped

Okay, changed one of the fans (95 Griff 500)today and also adjusted the passenger door cable under the flap to the side of passenger seat. Job Done !! or so i thought.
Went to start, ignition on can hear the pump prime turns over but doesn't fire.

What the hell ??
Checked all fuses under the dash all ok.

Any advice? anything i've touched or shouldn't have.

If everything was working OK before you started altering things then you may have dislodged an electrical plug/socket.
Check to make sure all seems OK.
As the fuel pump is priming worth checking if you have a spark at the plugs. Those neon indicators that go between the plug lead and the plug are a good guide (Halfords about £3 each)

When you were changing the fans did you disconnect anything else (battery?) or move some cabling in the process?

Well, bumped the car and it started within a couple of yards, took it for a 30 mile warm up switched it off and restarted straight away, but left it for 10 mins and it seemd to turn over longer before firing.
Then left it for an hour and wouldn't start still turning over so not hot start problem.

A friend gave me a push but not enough to bump it, turned the key and started.

I'll clean all electrical contacts tomorrow but apart from that i'm lost.

When you were in the passenger footwell did you disturb the cabling around the battery? Check the ECU is seated properly in its socket and that the relays etc. are in their sockets. Could be a poor earth connection, a main one is under the whale tail at the front

Had similar prob goodm few yrs back.....I cleaned all contacts and finally pulled out/pushed back in everything in fusebox....something did the trick!

Sorry for continuing this thread but only now been able to take a look at the car again,

Started it up from cold today and tick over was high at 2,000rpm then dropped to stall, restarted and with working the throttle finally settled around 900rpm but lumpy.

I could hear a high pitched squeal so thought maybe air leak fiddled with the air intake hose and the tick over rose quickly so maybe dodgy afm any way i can test it?

before you stat fiddling with the afm, I`d remove and clean the stepper motor bolted to the back of the plenum, this will affect tickover if its a bit sticky.

a search on hear will show many threads on how to do this, and symptons it gives when miss behaving.
