My engine has just gone pop so am awaiting recovery. (Tamora)
No handbook with me.

I know the first question once the sniggers subside is going to be 'Where is the tow hook?'

So. Where is the attachment point for a hook likely to be? I can't see it so before the AA man tears the front bumper off, can someone let me know...

thanks in advance

I have a loop on the front drivers side of the chassis, it doesn't look super strong but i've used it twice for tow trucks. Look under the front of the car and you should see it.

Sorry to hear about the engine, what happened?

Thanks for that..

Just a bit of a bang/pop whilst accelerating (about 4000rpm, warm engine)
After which the car sounded decidedly wrong. Minimal power and sounded like something was blowing.
No fluids loss

Car is still drivable for getting onto recovery truck so towing issue probably not critical.
I'm no expert but I'm hoping it's an exhaust/manifold/gasket issue......was not really in the market for a new engine right now....cry

AA man been and gone. Truck not suitable for recovering the Tamora.
Awaiting a truck that is....

I fecking hate that....you tell them 'it's a RWD low sports car' and they never ever send a vehicle that can recover a RWD low sports car. I once waited 5 hours for the only truck in the North West to arrive to take my stricken MR2 Turbo to the garage grrrr

I hope it's nothing serious for you, good luck. Towing eye is where people have said.

Hard luck, hope its not too expensive. If the engine is still running that must be a good sign its not terminal.

The 'towing eye' people are talking about may be the bacwards facing triangular one that was a tying down point for delevery and not a towing eye. (although you may be ok towing on it briefly)

Mine has been winched onto a low loader with a strop around the chassis where the jacking points are.
