Planning a little bank holiday get away. Say no more than 2-3 hours over the channel for 2 nights.

We are all around 23 so i'm not sure Bruges would suit? For example, city wise we have been to Prauge and Berlin, lots to do, lots to drink etc. Would Bruges be slightly too chilled out and maybe for an older crowd? Doesnt appear much to do apart from walk around and enjoy the sights?

I wouldnt want to do Paris as I would rather do it another time spending a little longer there.

Would somewhere like Lille be 'just' another French city if you get what I mean?

How about Reims? Only 2.1/2 hours from Calais; lovely city and plenty to do and see - including the old Reims GP circuit and buildings (with a great restaurant for lunch), the cathedral and if you like drinking, how about a Champagne tour?

I'd suggest Ghent has a bit more to see and do than Bruges, and isn't too much further away.

Bruges is a bit too "medieval Disney" for my tastes.

I hope everyone on these threads who keep recommending Bruges are right.

Just booked a day trip via Eurotunnel for £22 so going for the day.
