Got up this morning and when using the sink noticed there was a lower then normal water pressure, cold tap still worked but to me was noticibly lower in pressure, hot tap was also slightly lower. Check the shower (runs off mixer tap) nothing like normal pressure.

I've had an intermittent problem with the boiler for a while where ive had to keep topping up the pressure, every time i've wanted to get it fixed something else has come up so i've left it and it works fine, no problems with it other than the pressure dropping. I checked that this morning and the pressure was a bit low so went to fill it again but when i turned the valve the pressure didn't rise leading me to think there was no water flowing in.

I live in a 1st floor maisonette, all my pipes run in the loft, checked them and no leaks anywhere, checked behind the appliances and no leaks, the pipes then run down through the airing cupboard and through the same downstairs, been and checked with her and she says she hasn't noticed a drop in pressure although she is 70odd and might not notice as it wasn't significant. She is however having her kitchen replaced by the council but she reckons they haven't touched anything in the airing cupboard.

Any logical explanation before i call in the heavy mob?

Are you running a Combi Boiler system, or a low pressure tank, or a megaflow cylinder?

I get the impression it might be a combi or megflow as your hot is effected as well. Your cold mains will be straight off your incoming water main. Your hot will be via the megaflow cylinder or the combi, either way, they rely on a pressure from the incoming cold main.

So it sounds like your system is okay, but you have low pressure coming into your house. Check to see what your neighbours pressure is like.

Unless you mean flow, then try opening the stop cock up fully smile

Its a Combi system, i figured the drop in pressure of the hot was attributed to the pressure needed from the mains cold, all the flats on our row run off the same main so i'll ask a few more people after work tomorrow

Your blues lyrics started off well but then lost the plot a bit and don't scan!
