DOT5.1 Brake Fluid

Does anyone run this in their MX5?

I've heard about it, but have DOT4 in mine at the moment. I've been told to change the fluid before we go to N'Ring in 3 weeks, just wondering if its ok to put in them and is it worth putting in some 5.1 instead?

I have 5.1 in mine but only because it was the best I could find at the time at short notice. If you have 3 weeks then find some DOT 4 racing fluid.

I've got Dot 4 racing in mine. I've used 5.1 before though and it should be fine for you, on account of your slowness.

This is what I thought.. I drive so slowly some mineral water would do.

Nice and cheap and comes in a big 1L tub for about £20.

I did lose a bit of brake feel over using Silkolene Pro Race Brake Fluid which is just over £20 for 500ml.

I've read these need to be changed more often (Mazda recommend 2 years on their B/Fluid).. Is that right?

if you're using racing brake fluid then you're probably working it harder. change it every year.
