Are Cerbera owners the most elitist?
Discussion
There are a few Sagaris owners who don't like me referring to my Sagaris bodied, LS powered, Tuscan Challenge chassied race car as a Sagaris. There were even a few who took exception to me referring to it as a TVR, even when it was powered by an AJP8.
The irony is it was only the GRP which made the Griff different from the Chimaera, and its only the GRP, dampers and extended wishbone mounts which make the Sagaris different from a T350 or Tuscan. Add that all modern TVR chassis were developed from the Tuscan Challenge chassis, plus the story of the original V8 Tuscan (comfortably the most valuable TVRs now)....
I also quite understand the purist's view about keeping things absolutely original if you want to maintain investment value over the (very) long term.
But overall the answer is life is too short either to get too worried about what other people think.... or indeed to get too worked up about what other people do with their own cars.

I agree 100% with this. The irony is it was only the GRP which made the Griff different from the Chimaera, and its only the GRP, dampers and extended wishbone mounts which make the Sagaris different from a T350 or Tuscan. There are too many TVR 'Beardies' who maintain that originality at all costs is the most important thing. They are getting worse too, if you ask me. It used to be the bloke at the local club meet with his immaculate 3000M sitting at the end of the bar supping his half pint of 'Old Futtocks' holding court on the size of the self tappers holding the glove box on a Griffith. Now it's all and sundry.
Personally, whatever floats your boat is okay by me. TVR's were essentially kit cars built in a shed in Blackpool and development was/is an ongoing, ever changing thing.

Sounds like a good holiday to me
Ps am bored on holiday!

Dont worry about what everybody else thinks, just drive it!
For all the people who slate it there will be others, probably more so, who will appreciate it as an achievement and a bloody good car, me included. Keep it up.
Yes we are - bugger off!!
Seriously, we have the best cars!!!
Cerbera drivers always seem to be decent and not at all eletist, unless I didn't understand what they were saying to me!!!
And I don't care what engine, light coversion etc... they have, they're all special. Name something you'd relace it with......
And having just got mine back from the bodyshop from a full re-spray this morning, I don't have time to stay and chat here!!!
Cheers

This..!! If you can have a Cerb with two completely different engines from TVR (straight 6 and AJP) then why not an LS? Especially one so nicely installed as yours. If Moleskin ever gets around to releasing another Tiv, it'll have an LS as standard anyway.
Spotted your cerb at David Geralds open day and was very impresed at the instalation of the ls engine looked like it grew there,
i drive a 2004 cerb with the 4.2 AJP engine and i would like to think i would have it rebuilt if it went pop!just to keep it standard .
My dream at the moment is to rebuild a cerb using a new TVR Power chassis in ST/Steel and to fit an Ls engine i think i could end up with a very special car.
Anyway if people like you and others did not do these Mods Etc some TVR meetings would be b
y boring i want to improve my Cerb and have done with suspension upgrades etc , keep up the good work and take no notice

I think cerbera owners are just jealous of something a little different or forgetting they are driving a gloryfied kit car...... Tinker had the same with RX7 owners & now they are turning up at his door asking for a conversion.... On the hand the E46 people seem intrested keen for mine to happen
