XJ8 (X308) front indicator

My right side front indicator isn't working (the left side is all fine). The ticker ticks fast in the car, but the rear and side indicators go at the normal speed and the front one fails to light. I've checked the bulb and bulb holder, and they are OK. I've checked the earth, and thats ok. Do I need to change some expensive unit somewhere? Or can I just (temporarily?) feed a new lead between the side and front bulb holders?
Anyone got any adeas?
