Just been over to the DVLA Post IVA, for the paperwork check etc.

Drive there was uneventful as was the drive back. However i have to have a moan!!!!!!!It took 30 seconds for him to read the chassis number and engine number - followed by "yep - thats fine"

Surely they could do it a more effective way, i drove there, however they do say dont, meaning the cost for 30 seconds would be ridiculous.

That being said, really enjoyed the drive, and the attention both on the road, and by staff at DVLA.

Rant over, get my plates tomorrow.

It's doubly stupid seeing as that was the first thing on the IVA inspectors check list.
If you have your IVA pass in hand then the chassis number had to be right.

...... and you are allowed to drive a potential death trap to IVA. But it must be trailered to the DVLA having passed a very stringent safety test rolleyes I just love this country!!

Well, its not a strictly no you cant drive it.

Im ex police, so gave a few of my old buddies a call, one of which is now traffic, providing your going to DVLA re reg, and you are insured, his view was - treat it like an MOT. Therefore he was happy to let me go on my business.

During the journey back, i had to drive back through two of the biggest Sh** holes in Birmingham, got followed by three police pandas and a traffic vehicle. - I had no tax disc and NO number plates. They didnt even try to stop me. Which did concern me how illegal do i have to appear these days?

That being said im sure they were just checking i got out of the dodgy areas safely.

Thank god that bits over, can i start to enjoy it now?

Surely you're not surprised that something to do with the Public Sector is run in a less than efficient way?? [/end rant]

Congrtulations and enjoy the weather by the way.

Very glad I don't have to pass an SVA test or deal with the DVLA when mine is finished.
SORN at the moment so just an MOT to pass.
