Those rims suit the Vectra surprisingly well!

So your grandfather, when/where did he race Cortinas then??

Cheers,i refurbed them myself, need to change to a 45 sidewall profile on the tyres though,,,
My grandpa belonged to a rally team run by the bus company he drove for in the 6o s out of traction house in Motherwell, they used to compete in the scottish rallys, prepped all their work in the bus depot with their own mechanics. My dad has great stories of how he got to try out the hillman imp rally car my grandad took home to tinker in his garage over a weekend in 1966.My dads car was being repaired and he had to pick his new girlfriend {future wife/my mum}up in Glasgow,my grandad let him take the imp out as long as he came straight back again ,but my dad decided to show off and took the car a run up to Burntisland Fife.On the road up he encountered some form of new big engined rover which had just come out,the rover driver began to entice my dad into a race by overtaking and slowing down,my dad got tired of this and went along side and gave the imp all it had{probably would have flung him a can of red bull if it was out in the 60 s},eventually the rover caught up and the driver jestured for my dad to roll down the window, then enquired what was in the car.My dad told him it was rally prepared and could rev off the clock, how the rover driver never seen the full cage and harnessses my dad will never know.So racing and cars runs in my blood so it seems,LOL

The pics have a very very green tint to them, like some kind of green filter or gel has been used

Nice car mate, Its nice to see a Vectra that isnt silver or dark Blue.. and the wheels really suit it. They look very similar to the ones you see on the Vectra VXR and VX220 Turbo.

Looks like a nice road aswell.....
