About to buy a Polisher
Discussion
So, I'm about to buy an orbital polisher, it'll have velcro sponges etc. I was just wondering what are the best polishes to use? (Remember I'm a novice!) If I want to generally tart up my Passat for example do I need a G£ paste or just use T-Cut Metallic followed by something like Autosol Super Resin. I also am considering using it on my VX220 which already has an amazing hand finsished sheen to it but a few swirl marks. What are your suggestions and do I have to be careful not to 'burn' the paintwork?
First off, it's AutoGLYM SRP - Autosol is for chrome/brightwork!
You'll also not want to venture near T-Cut nor G3, until you really know what you're doing and have a good understanding of the machine and how to wield it properly.
Polishes & pads are personal preferences - there's no one brand of each that is the only one to go for.
Paints react differently to the combos possible, so you might be best to get the 250ml bottles some brands produce. That way you've a range to pick and choose from.
