It says it's a 1957 300SL Roadster converted with an aluminium body into a replica 300SLR.

What's the point? They've chopped up a very valuable car and made it look a bit like another much rarer and more valuable car. The amount of money spent doing that you may as well build a 300SLR replica from scratch, the cost won't be much greater.

I think you have answered your own question there..... Are you saying that, (A) It's now more valuable, and (B) it was done by the cheapest means????
