Went to see the FF film back and forth last night with swmbo which was followed by the band playing the whole of their new album wasting light. This was apparently streamed to cinemas throughout the UK.A lot of cinemas reported losing sound for most of the performance we lost sound for maybe 5 or 10 seconds but it was fine after that.
Really enjoyed the film with some interesting insights into the band and its members.Dave Grohl one minute joking in his usual manner to looking very regretful and sheepish about decisions to axe band members in the past.A side I had not seen before as well as fighting back tears over almost losing his friend Taylor Hawkins who took an overdose whilst touring in the UK.Really enjoyed the footage of the band recording the latest album in Dave Grohl`s garage very laid back.
The film finished and shortly after a countdown timer appeared in front of us counting down from 5 minutes. The band appeared including Pat Smear,Dave Grohl grinned at the camera and then launched into the first track. The album for me is epic 2 or 3 songs are growers but the rest are just awesome. Most of them are hard crashing driving rock numbers but with a melody flowing through them, loved it.Taylor Hawkins is a monster drummer and teamed with Nate Mendel on base they form a totally solid rhythm section. They finished the set with DG looking at the camera saying "that was great wierd but great".
I will shutup now

For proper Foo's fans, i think the film was great - some truly touching moments talking about the mistakes of the past. It was so good to hear the bands side of the story to events i already knew a bit about, but hadn't been covered during the 1 million sycophantic interviews that have been published in the last 15 years.
My favorite bit was his daughter interrupting the recording of a guitar track because they were supposed to go swimming. The entire theater laughed at that.
The performance - minus the sound problems, in HD.

Saw the film and had been listening to the album on their Soundcloud for the week running up to it. In High Wycombe our sound kept breaking up which was so annoying. I thought it was a sort of anti-piracy thing, so you couldn't film the whole performance, but if it was everywhere else, I guess we got off lightly. I also thought it was filmed on Tuesday night when the film was released in the States?
Absolutely loving the new album, constantly on play where ever I go. Heard a reviewer on Five Live slating the lyrics saying 'it's just repeative and boring' - I thought to myself, well he's not a Morrisey fan then.
Looking forward to MK, got my tickets when they first went on sale, still £45 a pop though. Does anyone know if there is a Gold Circle for that show?

I find the new album VERY formulaic. Some of the first few tracks are good, but it gets incredibly repetitive.
Does anyone know if all the MK show tickets are the same? I have a few tickets which i'm going to get rid of to some friends if i can and just need to check all the tickets are the same

The BBC are failing so badly with getting decent sound for their live broadcasts now. Maybe my expectations are too high!

s! It looks like a minimum of £400 just for 4 tickets to see them at Milton Keynes! Hmmm.........maybe not! ................Or have I just been very late to the party?!
