Odd wear on a tyre

Right my next door neighbour has odd wear on his o/s/f tyre. Theres tread on the the tyre but on the inside edge of the tyre half of the tyre has tread and the other half doesn't and have no idea what is causing it car is a puma by the way. Any idea on what could be causing half of the tyre on the inside edge to have tread but the other half to have very little.

It looks like where you locked up your wheels for about 3 miles never seen anything like it before. Unfortuntly cant get pic as its dark and hes away with the car for the next couple of days.

I had a pair (rear on FWD car) which became 20p shaped on the inside shoulder, but fine elsewhere. They started getting noisier and noisier. I replaced them with a different type and they've been fine for 10,000 miles.

My Lexus was wearing oddly on the front tyres. A laser alignment, wheel balance and some suspension work cured it. After 110,000 miles it was all way out.

My Puma wore the fronts out in circa 10k because the tracking was out.

Garage sorted it and it's stopped scrabbling when exiting roundabouts now. Possibly the best 30 quid I ever spent

In your first post you said it was inside edge that was worn that would indicate tracking, but in another post you said "It looks like where you locked up your wheels for about 3 miles never seen anything like it before" which would be flat across the width of the tyre, which one is it?
