Broadband has been down for 8 days (and probably will be again soon while we fit a new line in) so I have been absent.

Chassis back from powder coat yesterday so paneling today!!!!!!!!!

What other wheel suppliers are there out there that can do split rim wheels. I want to play with front wheel widths so one piece wheels are out. I know about Image and OZ but I am struggling to find others that can do the large widths we need. Any suggestions chaps?

A one-piece wheel option that is available in custom dimensions is the C-10 from CCW in Florida (see http://www.ccwheel.com/wheelprofiles-display.php?i... I suspect they can customize any of their one-piece models, but the C-10's are the latest and lightest wheel.

These are very tough (strong and stiff) wheels that, according to Lee (ROWDYRENAULT), are lighter than the factory wheels. Speak to John at CCW for details. You can see them installed on pictures of the Superlight Coupe here http://www.topspeed.com/cars/2010-rapier-sl-c-supe... (although CCW does not recommend or provide a polished finish on their C-10s as shown in these pictures). I currently have a set on order.

Image Wheels will do splits, but I would go for for CCW single piece forged for my next set....

I want to go 3 piece split rims so that I can change front wheel/tyre width to get the best out of the car on track. It is much cheaper to do with 3 piece rims.

The CCW are good looking wheels and I like the Schmidt a lot but I have given it a good deal of thought today ( while drilling lots of holes in ally panels) and I think there is a lot to be said for a UK based producer who I can go and see and talk face-to-face with.

With all that said I will be visiting Image for a touchy feely look see. I like the look of their billet 103LD wheel and some of the others too so we will see.

Hi Paul,

Harry is a nice guy, also open to a bit of a cash deal if you have it.
2 check points,
1) Check the final quality of your finished article. All the demo wheels are great but mine weren't quite as good.
2) My rear finished wheels weren't balanced at all, which I didn't realise untilI had them powder coated recently.

But other than that I've not got any complaints.

Thanks for the warning Dave. I will ensure they are balanced and showroom quality before I part with all my hard earned.

Also Paul, make sure you look at the wheel in the size your after.
I placed an order with image and was shown the stock display wheel.

It was so different when i arrived i refused the order and requested a refund.

Also the polished rim isnt mirror finish its far from perfect. However that being said very helpful throughout, but bare a few of these things in mind when you visit. PM me and ill email the pics of what i ordered and the difference etc.
