85 wedge hose route

hi, i bought a 85 tasmin 2.8i of ebay last week it was part stripped, i have put all the bits in the engine bay back but there were no hoses, so i bought a set from thr tvr agent but they dont fit. the alternator is in the way and the bottom outlet is to close to the steering rack. the last owner says it is all original, but it cant be. is there any one in the merseyside or manchester area with a similar car that i can compare to make sure i buy the right bits. regards malc

I have an 82 2.8 wedge, probably a similar set up to yours, mine was piped up incorrectly from the factory, it caused it to spit out it's coolant after enthusiastic runs. I re-piped it as per the Haynes manual for the 2.8 Granada, it cured all my problems.

The steering rack fouling the bottom hose doesn't surprise me, but I don't see why your alternator should cause you any problems?

hi, thanks for the offer i will be glad to take you up on it. can you send your address or tel. number so we can make the arrangments. the alternator sits on top on the drivers side and the hose has no clear passage.i have seen a pic on ebay that shows the alt. lower down. regards malc
