Had the pads turn up and I think they are incorrect. Also found a rip in the piston rubber so need a seal kit. Any ideas where to get a set?

Pads look like Granada 2.8i units, try BMH for EBC (Road! - Red not Green) pads.

Seal kits from BigRed.

You'll need a fitting kit too for the shims and anti rattle springs; not so easy to find nowadays but I actually got some from Halfrauds.

I think your problem is with the caliper, not the pads. The mintex pads you have look the right shape for the AP 4 pot calipers used on the later big wedges , but you cailipers are not AP 4 pot.

Hi Mike, As The Hatter has said, they look like Granada ones exactly the same as on my 88 350i. I got a new seal kit off e-bay and Halfrauds do pads & fitting kits. I have to say I thought the breaks on the SEAC were never good enough and now I know why!Probably a good time for an upgrade. Steve.

I was going to flush the fluid and replace it, replace the disks with new ones, overhaul the calipers and replace the lines with braided ones. Should stop the thing in 200 yards instead of 210 after.

Any ideas as to getting tidy disks?

I think these are maybe what you are looking for as they are described as the thicker ventilated type - seems a good price too!

Mike... is that your front calipers yikes , i would have thought you would have the 4pots like most of us...
If you have a pannel factors, motor factors i would take a pad and they should have a book on brake pads to match it up to it.
My local garage has a mintex book to match up pad shapes so no gess work.
I gess this old SEAC is going to look good this year.
Good luck

Hey it defo won't be pretty - the paint is shagged, has also micro blisters all over, faded, different colours and full of bumps and cracks but it will stop! Carpets and seats also knackered.

Having the calipers overhauled, have painted the chassis under the wheel arches, changed the disks, put new pads in, changed the pipes and fluid so should at least be reliable.

Apparently Mintex don't do the 1144 material in this pattern? So what about these EBC pads then some people say green and some say red material????

As TVRleigh says, Ferodo DS2500, especially if you're going anywhere near track.
