Hi all, some photos of the Griff 200. Body is now bolted on to new chassis. Front end is in some sort of shape with conversion to RHD pretty much there. Only another few years and it might see the road. Neil

It took quite a bit of consideration before I decided to switch it from LHD to RHD. Mine is a Griffith (make) 200 (model) a US Griff not UK TVR (make) Griffith 200 (model).

Eventually I decided that with a car destined to do plenty of overtaking - RHD made sense :-)

Looks like a good start...just wondering why the bottom of the dash is cut out?
Cheers,

Wonderful project...and I'm sure a great deal of work involved in achieving this level of quality. Have you registered your Griffith with the Griffith Club? If not...and your interested...you can contact Mike Mooney, president of the Griffith Club at www.MikeMooney.com. He also wrote an excellent historical perspective of the Griffith 200 called "The Griffith Years".

Take care,

A fellow Griffith 200 owner

In answer to a few questions...Dash is cut out for column which is now fitted to right hand side. I've got to "swap" over the sides of the dash to make the gaugues appear on the right. Dash will come together then. Since that pic was taken I've used the original outer column with some nylon bushes to mate with the new inner.

Also, I have written to Mike Mooney. Before I bought the car I got a fair amount of info from Joe Rauh who maintained the list of cars before Mike. He was very helpful in tracking down the previous owner (I bought it via www.wirewheel.com) and from the previous owner I got some more pics and history including one of the car at a meet with Jack Griffith standing in front of it.

I understand that you are converting to RHD...just do not know why the dash is cut? The steering should be under the dash and not through it. Joe is a good bloke, lives about an hours drive from me.

Take a look at the original cut out the other side. Mine comes through a tiny bit higher as the angle upwards of the column is less than original as mine has a joint in it. Making it a bit "straighter" too.

Also that column outer is very thick as it has roller bearings - now I've managed to use the original outer the hole needs can be smaller (not shown in these pics). It will all sort itself out when I glass in the dash and convert that to RHD too, at least I hope so :-)
