Good to see another European TF team racing where they belong. Glad to see Lex and the Team back in Europe. Just remember the wheelie bars!!!

All the best to all of the Nitro racers in Europe for 2011. It's going to be a perfect year. I can feel it.
Pity I can't get to the Thunderball, though...... boo hoo!

Jeez, A wonderful shot. Dennis Whatsisname from Dragracer printed the whole sequence of mine (look at the sequence!) and he took the p*ss out of supreme German photog Martin Grosse-Gelderman, as all he did was shake his fist at Lex as he went past and Stefan Bowman got the lot on a 300mm lens!
Never realised he "pulled a cherry" as well. Qualifying runs don't count, I know.
With sincere thanks to Very old Fart (Steve Hyatt):-

Just goes to show when you haven't posted anything for months/years - I've forgotten how to post video...! Just download the flipping thing and run it in Media player.......

What a difference a day makes. I've just polished my 'rocket ship' (ex-cop car) and stuck some fresh "topnitro" stickers all over it and I just found this lot: Some of the happiest days of my life:-
http://www.topnitro.co.uk/Video/Lex_warm_mantorp.m...
and the unforgettable "Krusty the Clown":-
http://www.topnitro.co.uk/Video/joran_warm_mantorp...
Watch Gary Page, Knut Söderquist and the crew getting Jöran running. See Knut getting cross with him. Subsequent warmups were even funnier, because every time Knut came to give him a "gollocking" he'd let go of everything (I have the video) rather than be told off again. Jöran must have done something right, because all four Knut cars were in the Semi's and Jöran made it into the final and Micke just pipped him to the post. Best meeting ever. Beautiful weather. I drank a foolish quantity of ale that night and I was so hung-over the next day....... wonderful.
PS:-
See the famous Knut Chevy Suburban in the background. About 13 of us piled on it (true) and Gary Page was driving it, of course. He never appeared to look out the windscreen and was his amusing and mericless wit was the order of the evening and the supension and steering was all over the place. Gary kept looking back at us and making us all laugh and insisted on pressing the pedals even harder. I implored him to look at the road and that made him look even less. I just closed my eyes and I was ready to meet my maker. It was terrifying. Al Jackson (ex-TF pilot and renowned Crew Chief also slept through the rest of it and Smax with his blond locks made is laugh even more. I love cats and as soon as we got to the camp site, I spotted (I was drunk by now) a lovely black cat and shouted "Hello there! Now what's your name?" Gary has never let me forget that. His name was George, by the way.
PS:- I tried to do the warmups with the aforementioned (and sadly lost) Sony HD video camera. I can't; it just turns the camera off and corrupts the 300gb-ish hard drive! Grrr!
More weather like this and we will have a cracking year. Topnitro is now feeling "I'll be back" and all racers should be aware of a large gentleman (not so large any more) and his very nosey camera!

Whatshisname is Kieselhorst, still involved in Drag Racing as Daddy of Amy, one of our "Junior Nationals" participants.
Sadly, DRAGRACER Magazine went the way of many (all?) european print-Magazines focussed on Drag Racing,
and it took an awful lot of cash from Dennis & Kalunki (SE Germany organisator).
Did Stefan really get some pix from the Joon wheelie ?
Martin told me that he had the wrong lens on for that close distance and therefore cheered Lex on,
whilst Stefan had focused on Risto in far lane and frantically grabbed one of the other Nikon$$$ hanging about him
when he realized the real action was taking place in near lane.

Thanks Benni. I had forgotten Dennis's surname. He was delighted with my spectator guard rail shots, and he always published any decent pictres that I had. Stefan DID get Lex with his 300mm lens. Martin, of course, had that 600mm Nikon glass and he got nothing - thus the shaking hand! I joked with him and Stefan Bowman and said they both missed the shots. Stefan's furrowed brow told me he did not miss it and he GAVE the pictures to dragracing on line who published them along with Ivan's report. It was head-on and in the last shot you could virtually see Lex's "Oh dear" look on his face. Wonderful shots, as most are from Stefan. Of course, Lex smashed his front axle with that heavy landing and John Webster worked all through the night to get him going again (changing over to the spare front axle from the Santa Pod demo dragster, if I recall. Lex was running the next morning and he promised when he needed to front half & back half his dragster that he would bring it to John Webster. He did. Good to see lex back
