Today, was the first opportunity I have had to take my recently acquired 130i LE out for a proper spin... so I thought I'd do things properly:
05:30, get up, set-off in the dark,
06:30 arrive at the beginning of the Cat and Fiddle as the sun rose. Had a clear run with not a soul on the roads.
06:45 followed by a return leg through the White Peaks along the A515, A5012 and B5023 - the latter two being particularly fun.
07:50 back in time for the beginning of the GP.
I'm throughly impressed with the 130i, the more I drive the more I like: awesome traction, creamy straight 6-pot, good brakes, very chuckable and sized perfectly for Britains roads... what more could I want?!

If its spaced correctly then you'll be fine! ><I just went for an hour spin through aberdeenshire roads. 20 mins of easy B road driving to warm the car and me up, 20 mins of thrash on good, recently resurfaced twisties for about 10-15 mins, then a gentle cruise home while enjoying the scenery! Stopped off at icecream shop for a whippy before I got home though!
I have been contemplating a cheap MR2 mk2 for a while as a track car. I had the best idea ever today, when it comes time to swap my car, get a nice-ish company car (i have fairly free reign as its a family company) and have a slightly more expensive weekend, evening AND track car all in 1. I would get much more use out of it and have so much more fun...

I went out past Loch lomand stopped at the falls of falloch then went back Glasgow way via callendar.
Almost ruined by the amount of a
holes on motorbikes. Tryin to take the racing line through blind corners. Ridiculously short gap overtaking. Not one to hate bikers personally just dislike appalling driving. Not all bikers but a fair amount.

Not all bikers but a fair amount. I had a cracking run out in the Seven. Left home at 8.30am and went across the downs from North Swindon to Lambourn, cut east to the A338 then north to Wantage. From there cut back home the long route on some lovely country lanes.
Hardly anyone on the roads, the sun was out and the car was ace. And to top it all a lovely sounding V10 Audi R8 stopped behind me in Wantage

Me too! Are you acquainted with the Donnington - Wantage - Hungerford loop you can do? WELL worth a hoon if you get a chance!That was my hoon for the weekend, took the opportunity to show off the 5 to my brother who's just got back from uni.
