No offence, but if your phone falls out of that holder onto the road, it's gonna be fed. It's all very well in a car where it will only fall into a footwell, but seriously, dropping a phone onto asphalt at 20mph? Unless you have nav-apps on your phone, just turn it off and use your time on the bike to get away from the damned thing, or tuck it into a jersey pocket to summon emergency help only. Complete waste of time from the look of it. Just my opinion, by the way (takes to bunker in preparation for rounds incoming).

I used a RAM iPhone mount to run cycle meter and over a fair few hundred miles it's performed absolutely fine. I haven't added it to the new bike yet, but I recommend it.

I realise this isn't the same as the one you have, but it goes to confirm that some of the phone holders do work.

Me too, it's a great bit of kit.

You just need the small connector for other bikes to use it on them too.

I have a phone holder for my bike and it works great.

BUT

It is one which is specifically designed for my phone and holds it extremely securely. That one looks seriously dodgy and I would expect your phone to be going flying very quickly if you every try to use it.

When it's strapped to the bars it's not a phone, it's a GPS Cycle computer

If it turns out to be junk, I'll send it back to him. But he doesn't appear to have had any negative feedbacks about it. He's had lots on other things though.

I bought the holder for my Nokia X6, and I've also got a silicone skin type case for the phone. So maybe this will stop the phone from flying out as it's rubber and should hold well against the ?foam? holder.

Set computer, attach phone and don't worry until the end of the ride. The program I use even has automatic stop when stationary.

Me too. OpenCycleMaps in MotionX are better than anything else available.

The Ram mount has performed brilliantly and seems totally secure, being a sleeve designed specifically for the iPhone 3 (or 4).

I would never use one of those generic phone holders.

I got it today, attached it to my bike and went for a ride. And I highly recommend it! Feels tough and is of a high quality.
