What brake pads are people using, I tried Mintex 1471 back in the day (now Mintex 1144 I believe) but found they needed warming before they work so a bit scary for the road! I currently have Ferodo DS2000 fitted and am VERY happy with them, DS2000 are no longer available and I believe are replaced by DS2500, how are these in comparison to DS2000? Then I see EBC pads for sale for little more than loose change, are they any good, the front of a car is a more expensive than the price of a set of pads so what do you run these days, and why?

Chris.

Can't remember what I have in the fronts at the moment, but have a set of Greenstuff pads sat around. Any opinions on those?

If you're happy with the DS2000's then I would move to the DS2500. I've used the former, then DS3000, an have been on the DS2500 for some years now, and am pleased with the performance. Very hard pedal, possibly not as much initial bite as a softer road-focussed pad, but I've never had a "will it stop?" moment from cold. They also stand up well to track work, which is important, especially at the rear with very little cooling effect.

I have used EBC for some time and their best benefit is very little dust compared to others.

My favourites were the tarox sintered but dont think they are available anymore.
