Steering Knocking

Cheers Guys,
Not one to do much on the car myself, so i'll check the nuts & the wheel myself, but will have to take into the garage to check the other. It has been to the garage as they were the ones that removed the rack, sent it off for a refurb & refitted.
They couldn't find anything when they looked last week, they said they could also feel it when driving, but when it was raised of the floor & they turned the wheel, could not heer or feel anything. They have done a few bits on the car in the last few years, no complaints. I was trying to leave it with them to sort, but may have to go elsewhere.
Anyone know anywhere good local to south east london, dont want to drive it too far as it is.

If there is then it will be the universal joints (UJs) that are worn / loose.
Yes, i noticed at the weekend that there is movement in the steering wheel when the engine is off, its not massive, but you can move it a little in all directions. If there is then it will be the universal joints (UJs) that are worn / loose.
Could this be to do with removing & refitting the rack?

Yep, UJs not done up tight enough after refitting, easy mistake to make.Could this be to do with removing & refitting the rack?
they all seem to perish at the same time.Mine did not feel 100% out of tight corners at speed,i put this down to the tyres.Anyways she went in for the mot last weekend and the bushes were knacked.the guy showed me how much play there was and i could not believe it.There was a little clunk when i get car out my garage,and you could almost feel the movement(very very slight).on the front they had gone so bad that the drop links were hitting the chassis.

How many people you recommended them to? I had a good chat with them, they said possibly the rack, but most likely UJ's not tight enough & they can book me in for JUNE!!!!!! May get a space in 2 weeks, will call me! Tanguero said:

I mainly use Dan for suspension setup and he always seems to manage to fit me in. Sorry - I hadn't realised he was so busy.
It is a straightforward, if slightly fiddly, job to tighten the UJs up yourself.

Quite happy to do this myself if i can locate tyhem. Any idea of where they are located, or i can find a diagram?
