4.2 vs 4.5

When I said disspointed, i meant the 4.2 in relation to the 4.5, thats all.
Just wondering how much quicker the 4.5's are. And also, are the motors any more robust?

You won't notice any real difference. The 4.2 is slightly revvier, the 4.5 a bit torquier. The 4.5 has the edge head to head once it gets over 100, then it might just start pulling away. Both are aa robust as each other, don't expect to be driving a 'V8' though, you'll be driving a manic hard edged 4 cylinder car that has 2 engines under the bonnet.

Shame about the light conversion but a nice colour.
The price seems a little high for a 4.2 but if the condition is good and the receipts stack up high then worth a look. Get Dulfords? to inspect?
Not sure what has been done to the chassis but that would need careful inspection.

I personally like the light conversion, updates the front end of it.
Its due a minor service, as it was the major 12 months ago.

The front isnt done per the TVR factory lights from 2002 but if you like it...
I wouldnt worry about the cost of the service - just make sure it has plenty of bills for work over the last couple of years. No less than £5K imho.

Have to say I really like the lights. For me the later blended Tuscan lights are the prettiest but I don't like those tiny "bottle top" sidelights which just look a bit aftermarket IMHO. My car is being resprayed at the moment and I think I'll delete them while I have the chance.

It's not like it's ever been close to standard since I've owned it anyway...

why are the ones that catch yer eye always miles away.will help out if you require bud,am up at Dulfords to collect mine tomorrow so can ask if they know the car.think they charge 50 quid to inspect,had mine done once i bought itor if you want i will pop up to have a look at her this week and report back.

The lights aren't aftermarket as such, TVR fitted them to the later cars, however, they also added a smaller light as a side light which is the bit I don't like and is missing from the car you posted the link to.

If you look on the photo of my car below you'll see it - the smallest light which is outboard of the headlight / dip beam.

So Gaz.....what you're sayings is....if a Cerbera hasn't had over 5k spent on it in a 2 year period then it's a bucket & a buyer should walk away.....boks!!

For starters, quite a few of us on here are rather handy with a toolbox and dont pay extortionate labour costs. Alot of parts/spares can be sourced cheaper than getting them from so called TVR specialists and on top of all this, some cars go from service to service without requiring shed loads of money spent on them.

At least that thing still starts, unlike that heap of lancastrian shyte currently stranded in my carpark with a flat battery. Been so busy that i haven't been near the Cerb in a few weeks, the things sulking like a tart.

Thats great, I would appreciate that. Dulfords have worked on the car, quite recently so should know it.
