Share Buying

Never having bought shares, other than managed fund investment where someone else is doing it, there is a company I would like to invest in, the shares are very low value at the moment and I am not looking to invest a lrge amount, probably a couple of thousand.

Who should I be dealing with ?
Can I do it online myself, if so what site/company is recommended ?

Any advice appreciated.

Assuming you are talking about a UK listed company; most banks offer an online share dealing service, so usually the simplest way is to open an account with them and then you can buy and sell shares online.
