I hit a large pothole in my caddy van at Charing X in Glasgow back in January. Tore the tyre slightly and 7" scrape down the alloy. I put a claim in to the council for a replacement winter tyre which had just been fitted 3 weeks prior. Alloy wheel refurb and £25 for getting tracking checked.
I received a cheque for £190 today which was nice. I don't make any money from it, but at least i'm not out of pocket. Well done Glasgow City council, although i'm sure it would have been cheaper repairing the potholes!!

That happened to me a few years ago and they refused to pay. Lucky you!

I had a map showing location backed up with pictures of pothole. I gave them estimates for the repairs and sent them receipt for the new tyres bought only weeks before incident.

It may also depend if the pothole has been reported, but not sure about that.

That's the angle they took with me. I assumed that they'd probably just lie and insist nothing you tried to claim had ever been reported before...

There are sites on line where you can check for previously reported potholes
