You should be able to tell the difference, but try percolation rather than infusion.

You need to use fresh ground coffee in those things not instant granules as just bought.
You'll probably notice a big difference .......

I quite like Douwe Egberts, I buy the pure gold one. I hardly ever drink coffee though and find the so called 'real' coffee too strong.

I suspect you need new tastebuds if you think the difference is small. I'll drink instant at work but ground beans and granules are worlds apart.

A good starting point for soon-to-be enlightened.....

But some Lavazza vacuum-packed coffee and prepare using a Cafetiere. 3 decent scoops of coffee in the cafetiere, boil the kettle but don't pour in immediately....it burns the coffee. Wait a few minutes then fill the cafetiere. Leave at rest for 3 minutes then compress. Drink and shake hehe

This is also a great starting unit and delivers really well.....

It's not a bad deal and the Douwe Egberts is about the best instant. And that's coming from a certified coffee snob.

I love my coffee and recently bought a Jura Impressa F50 bean to cup machine. Utterly brilliant gadget, infinitely adjustable and makes great coffee with no fuss.

Nah, I picked up a "pre-loved" one on EBay for roughly a third of the new price wink Still a lot of money, obviously, although after selling my previous built-in coffee machine after two years of heavy use at a PROFIT I was in celebratory mood. And I do love my coffee smile
