Hi, would anyone have an idea how much it would cost to convert a manual garage door to electric, remote controlled? The garage is a double, but with 2 seperate doors
Cheers
Steve

about £150 per door if you fit it yourself.

As above, if you can fit it yourself then you can get an electric/remote mechanism from £150, one here : http://www.screwfix.com/p/europro-500-garage-door-...

I got a Henderson kit for about £150 12 years ago from B&Q and on a double up/over ally door its still going - used to get twice daily usage until approx 18months ago but now only use couple of times a week.

Provided you get a good motor and have well balanced door with good springs the kit is doing little effort. Easy to fit in a few hours

Not the quietest of motors when opening/closing but that I suppose is beacuse it is suspended from a wooden ceiling. Thing is you can hardly hear it operating from outside - but in the upstais bedroom any Japs would run for cover thinking another quake is on its way!
