Problem with head lights

Got a problem with my head lights, when driving main beam goes off, then back on after a few minutes, the side lights stay on. Have checked all connections on switch but makes no differance.
Very frustrating when trying to get home.
Any one have any ideas

No, bottom spots come on on full beam, talking about when head lights are on

When on full beam, all 4 lights should be on....... Do the normal lights still switch off and on by themselves, even when on full beam??

no, side lights and full beam still work, just 'normal headlights' go off
thought it might have been bad earth, but surely none of the lights would work if this was the case or do they have seperate earths

yes, they do but full beam still works. its just the main beam stops working

Try removing and cleaning the internal contacts on the column stalk and the connectors onto the column stalk

I am no master mechanic but I had a similar problem on my Griff about 2 months ago, all I did was replace the relay and it solved the problem, I hope this helps.

The stalk only operates Full beam, button on dash operates lights

Yes the stalk switches between dip and main but the dip feed goes through stalks from the button.

The fuse box is above the battery, the handbook shows you which one you should change, good luck.
