G'day, Chaps

I'm heading to Aberdeen from Melbourne next week for five days, and then plan to have a few days R+R in London. I'd like to be reasonably close to the centre, and am looking to spend about 100 quid a night. From what I've seen on Wotif and Hotels.com etc, there appears to be quite a bit about.
I was wondering if there are stand outs that anyone might like to suggest to help narrow down my search.

Also, my only plans at this stage, are to visit Hamley's and Harrods, so if anyone would be good enough to suggest some other activities to fill the time in, I'd be very thankful.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Regards,
Matt

Not been yet - going this Friday but staying in The President at Russell Square, they also have The Imperial next door. £102 and £112 respectively.

No idea what they are like though.

Activities: Imperial War Museum, Maritime Museum at Greenwich. Take a boat ride up the thames from Greenwich as well, completely different view of London. A Vist to the Tower of London & St Pauls is compulsory.

I've used these guys http://www.grangehotels.com/hotels-london.aspx at their City and St Pauls locations on several occasions for around £90-120 and have always been pretty impressed with them. You may struggle to get the best deals next week though, being Easter, Marathon weekend, etc.

Thanks Guys,
Turns out an old friend is still in London and has offered me a room for a few days. Lucky really as the time I'm there pretty much coincides with the Royal Wedding, so decent hotel accommodation was looking a bit sparse.
Thanks also for the suggestions on things to do.
Cheers, Matt
