When I release the handbrake on my puma the warning light on the dash stays lit. If I nudge the handbrake lever up just a touch it goes off but when its down as far as it will go the light comes on.

I know when it comes on or flickers under braking that the brake fluid is low and I know I'm due for a new set of pads and dics shortly (just need to find the time to get them sorted) But this issue comes from just moving the handbrake lever about wether I'm driving or parked. Is it a simple case of adjusting the handbrake or is it something else?

that'd be the little electronic switch. if your into car diy, strip the trim out around the handbrake and look for the little switch, operate it with your fingers see if it sticks etc, then you should know if it needs replacing smile

Cheers for that, I shall have a look later on today.

Took a look under the covers and something was bent, sensor maybe? Bent it back into position and all is well so thanks for that, problem solved.
