I cannot get Outlook to send and receive. I was using Office 2003, but I kept getting an error message every time Outlook closed saying "Microsoft Visual basic error". Eventually (today) Send/Receive stopped, well, sending and receiving.

So I uninstalled 2003, and re-installed Office XP Pro, thinking it might solve the problem. Anyway, now I get the eror message "Failed to run" when I click Send...etc. Any ideas anyone? Don't tell me it's a re-install Windows moment!!

Could be any number of things.

My first suggestion would be to either re-create the default "outlook" profile or create a new one. Do this from the Mail icon in control panel as opposed to from within Outlook itself. I take it you are connecting to a pop3 server? You'll need to add your account to the new profile. This will at least give you a new clean set of default core files.

The problems with trying to run the older version of Outlook are also numerous. For starters it won't recognise .PST files from the later verion.

Good luck.
