I just paid about £800 including all searches,land registry etc.

our fees were 600 plus land registery fee 280 ish, plus stamp duty

It'll vary across the country but solicitors are crying out for business and for a straightforward transaction in Scotland I normally pay in the region of £500 + VAT + outlays/searches etc using a decent competent firm.

Last year I paid £950 for conveyancing on a 1 bed flat including the land registry free, bank transfer fees and any VAT.
