I'm in the process of having a new deck built. It's not the biggest deck I've ever seen but I reckon it's more than adequate. Anyone here got any views on deck size? In the USA blokes are always comparing the size of their decks, much more so than in the UK in my experience. I had thought of going a little bigger but my wife said she probably wouldn't be able to find a use for the extra and in any case I could always have a deck extension if she changed her mind. I'm hoping that everything will be finished this week and I'll be able to have some friends and neighbours on my deck by the weekend.

Here's some blokes sitting around discussing deck size.

My deck is huge stretches the boundaries of the garden and cuts straight through the OH's Vegetation. It knocked her out once when she tried to step off, she slipped and banged her head on the edge. Another time when I was entertaining a guest on it, they stepped off the end, it reacted like a springboard when their weight moved off it, sprung up and slapped them on the arse, knocking them to the ground. Well it would, weighing in excess of 660lbs.

I blame that plank Alan bloody Titmarsh.
Covered the nation in wood & sodding blue fence stain.
He should be decked himself the tt.

Even better in NZ where an 'e' is pronounced as an 'i'.

So it's iggs for breakfast, and cold ligs in winter.

(Naturally an 'i' is pronounced 'u', hence fush and chups).

Advert on telly with someone exclaiming "nice dick" did at least aknowledge this strange affliction down under.

It's no problem for drainage as it's not as sunken as it looks, to give an idea, the fence panel in the rear right corner is actually 6ft high!! It's not clear in the first pic but the ground slopes away quite dramaticaly, it's made a total wasted space a valuable addition, I'm just about to continue th little wall all the way around now as the little man is one on Saturday and toddlers and 5ft drops are never a winning combination.
